GILSON ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF THE N-GLYCAN TOOLKITs

Gilson, Inc. is proud to announce the release of an innovative and ’manually automated’ TOOLKIT to change the historically tedious and labor intensive process of N-Glycan analysis.  The Gilson TOOLKITs use the rapid N-Glycan sample preparation GlykoPrep™ Kit from ProZyme to provide an even more efficient and streamlined process with consistently reproducible results from the electronically tracked protocol.
The hassle of manually tracking each step in a paper booklet is eliminated.  Instead, the Gilson SD TOOLKIT and Gilson MD TOOLKIT utilize the tracking functionality of the duo-plate TRACKMAN™ pipetting tracker to guide glycobiologists through each and every step within the GlykoPrep protocol using text screens and lighted wells.  The use of the Gilson TOOLKITs eliminates the risk of errors caused by routine distractions.   Further increases in efficiency are directly related to letting the TRACKMAN keep track of which cartridges are loaded and processed, and using the foot pedal to advance the TRACKMAN protocol frees both hands, allowing consistent N-Glycan sample preparation in less than 3 hours.
“Confidence that the sample data is reliable was one of our main goals for the Gilson TOOLKITs.  Distractions, pipetting variability, training new glycobiologists, and laboratory documentation are no longer concerns when using the manually automated Gilson TOOLKITs,” explains Toni Hofhine, Director-Gilson Knowledge Center.  Day-to-day variation is significantly reduced with the use of the Gilson PIPETMAN disposable tips on either the PIPETMAN™ M or PIPETMAN™ Neo Multichannel pipettes to transfer samples into the AssayMAP® cartridges that are used throughout the protocol.  Currently available only to customers residing in the United States, the Gilson TOOLKIT simplifies the science of N-GLYCAN sample preparation and allows for ease in transitioning to a higher throughput per day; from 1 to 24 samples.
